	copy store clerks,
	record store clerks,	
	convenience store clerks.
	
	one a.m. phone calls,
	two a.m. pizza dudes,
	late-night revelators and revelers
	
And to the:	

	people in line waiting silent,
	barflies talking ears off,
	pool players playing cool.

	nonbelievers, true believers, defiant ones,
	cornered worried wallflowers,
	anyone not fitting in.
		
Don’t forget the:	
	
	bakers, brewers, bank tellers,
	table cleaners, table dancers,
	bouncers, bartenders, beer spillers.
	
	zinesters, scenesters, teasers,
	readers, ranters, writers,
	people passing on words.
		
And finally, 
     the:	

	temp workers slash poets,	
	wait staffers slash actors,
	dreamers, destiny-embracers, 
	stars.
